The City of Victoria's annual Get Growing event is back! This award-winning program supports communities in need through partnerships with non-profit organizations that help distribute seedlings to residents who face barriers to growing their own food. Vegetable, herb, and edible flower seedling varieties are selected for easy growing for the novice gardener and suitable for a variety of locations, like garden beds in yards or container gardening on decks and balconies.
Spring seedlings include tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, collard greens, swiss chard, kale, lettuce, basil, chives, nasturtiums, calendula, and shiso. Spring seedling distribution takes place in all neighbourhoods across Greater Victoria from May 18 to June 2, 2023 as follows. No registration required, simply stop by and pick up what you'd like!
